TANGAIL TB & LEPROSY CONTROL

The project covers 3 districts with a population of 7,8 million inhabitants. Combined TB and Leprosy services are provided through 34 clinics. Advocacy, Social Mobilization and contact investigation are regular activities for creating mass awareness and finding patients. The project also runs a hospital at Jalchatra.

Our partner in the field is the Damien Foundation. 3,638 new cases were detected. Among them, 1,623 women and 210 children. 252 individuals were already disabled at the time of their diagnosis of leprosy.

India is divided into 29 states. Our projects are located in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana (South), Maharashtra (West), Odisha and Bihar(East). Activities include early detection, treatments, outpatient and inpatient clinics, reconstructive surgery to improve functional capacities, disability care services, community awareness to reduce stigma, and empowerment of people affected by leprosy. These projects cover all three strategic goals: Zero Transmission, Zero Disabilities, and Zero Discrimination.

Our partners in the field are the Damien Foundation, DAHW, Lepra, and Women in Need. Countrywide, 114,451 new cases were detected. Among them, 44,877 women and 7,859 children. 2,761 individuals were already disabled at the time of their diagnosis of leprosy. India is the country with the highest prevalence of leprosy in the world.

The Cebu Leprosy Program helps to detect leprosy cases through sctive screening, support treatment, disability prevention and provides training to health workers in stigma reduction. Zero Transmission · Zero Disability · Zero Discrimination.

Our partner in the field is the American Leprosy Missions. Countrywide, 2,122 new cases were detected. Among them, 608 women and 99 children. Only 37 individuals were already disabled at the time of their diagnosis of leprosy. The active screening finds individuals newly affected before invalidity.

Leprosy in Sri Lanka is a disease with a strong social stigma. Our actions aim to strengthen activities and test new technologies and innovative approaches for active case detection, disability reduction, and the identification of high-risk areas. This project covers two strategic objectives: Zero Transmission and Zero Disability.

Our partner in the field is Fairmed. 1,658 new cases were detected. Among them, 680 women and 176 children. 91 individuals were already disabled at the time of their diagnosis of leprosy.
